Yarn Care

General Yarn Care Tips

  • Please wind hank into ball or cake before you start your project.  You will get a lot of tangles and knots if you start knitting or crocheting as is - you have been warned!
  • Your yarn is washed, rinsed and soaked in wool wash after the dyeing process however some darker colors may still bleed.

Alpaca, mohair, silk and untreated wool:

  • Hand wash cold.
  • Wash dark colors separately.
  • Only use detergents that are made specifically for washing wool and other fine fibers.
  • Move gently, don’t rub!
  • Rinse thoroughly.
  • Shape the garment and lay it flat to dry.

Superwash treated wool:

  • Superwash treated wool can be washed in machine, using the wool/gentle cycle.
  • Do not use fabric conditioner.
  • Wash dark colors separately.
  • Only use detergents that are made specifically for washing wool.
